David Boreanaz Shares Bloody SEAL Team Season 7 Image, Reveals Jason’s Trauma Following Clay’s Death
SEAL Team star David Boreanaz has revealed Hayes’ trauma in season 7 following the death of Clay (Max Thieriot). Created by Benjamin Cavell, SEAL Team debuted in 2017, following Hayes and his fellow elite SEALs as they went on various missions around the world. SEAL Team season 7 recently premiered, kicking off the show’s final season of episodes and promising more fallout from Clay’s death in season 6. Boreanaz has now taken to Instagram to share a new image of Hayes with bloody hands in SEAL Team season 7, revealing that his character will continue to be affected by Clay’s passing. Check out his post below: “Jason Hayes Bloody Monday,” Boreanaz wrote in his caption. “The trauma is going to be very difficult for Hayes this season. How will he get through it? Or will he get through it?”

While SEAL Team is clearly meant to be entertaining, and there are plenty of exciting shootouts and dramatic developments for the characters, the show also tries to honor the real sacrifices made by those in the military. Clay’s death is tragic and shocking in SEAL Team season 6, but it helps reinforce that the missions Hayes assigns to his team have real consequences. Clay’s death shows that, just like in real life, all of these characters are putting their lives on the line and not everyone gets a happy ending.
Beyond the real shock of Clay’s death in SEAL Team season 6, the fact that season 7 will take the time to explore Hayes’ pain and guilt related to the event points to another important issue related to military service. Hayes’ work not only takes a physical toll on him and his team, but it also takes a psychological toll. Hayes has suffered from PTSD, which shows that, for a soldier, war doesn’t end when he leaves the battlefield and returns home.
It’s unclear exactly how the remaining episodes will wrap up the story, but Hayes’ battle with his inner demons suggests that the show won’t just focus on big action scenes. Hopefully, this means the series finale will be a poignant and emotional farewell for Hayes and the rest of the core SEAL Team characters. There are still many questions about SEAL Team season 7, but viewers should clearly expect some emotional upheaval for Hayes in the upcoming episodes.
