SEAL Team’s David Boreanaz responds to cancellation rumors following the season 5 finale
SEAL Team has seen a change in the past 12 months, as the military drama moved from CBS to Paramount+ in the US.
And now, following the season five finale, one of the stars of SEAL Team has responded to rumors that the show is not only ending its latest season but the entire series.
David Boreanaz, who plays Special Warfare Operator General Jason Hayes, has admitted that “nothing official” has been confirmed.
In an interview with TVLine, the Bravo Team head actor said that he feels “optimistic” about the SEALs’ future, but is currently waiting for news.
“I know we did very well for Paramount+ and I’ll leave it at that,” he said, before adding that he’ll patiently wait for his “call sheet.”
“I’m only good when the call sheet says ‘Hey, you have a call time at 8 a.m.,’ right? So we’ll wait and see if that call time shows up.”
If SEAL Team really did broadcast its final mission, at least David Boreanaz has fond memories both in front of and behind the camera to look back on.
Opening up about the challenges of working as both an actor and director on the series, David explained the “formula” of the series which involves 10-hour days.
“We don’t have nine to 12 days. We don’t have 13 or 14 hour days. We have seven days to complete an episode and we have 10 hours [per day],” he said.
“Knowing that, you can feel a little bit of pressure as a director. You know you want to get the most out of these moments, I have to make sure I put my best foot forward.” invest in specific acting moments, then you have to invest time to get to the actual moments.”
SEAL Team, as you might have guessed, follows a team of elite Navy SEAL officers as they plan and execute various dangerous missions in a short amount of time.
SEAL Team airs on Paramount+ in the US. Sky Max broadcasts the program in the UK.
