‘SEAL Team’: Raffi Barsoumian’s Omar joins Bravo as Clay continues to recover
Bravo is getting some (possibly much-needed) help in the October 2 episode of SEAL Team.
Series regular Raffi Barsoumian first appeared as Omar, a senior leader with 15 years of experience as a SEAL, in “Growing Pains,” and you can see him with the team in the photos below. He is the son of Syrian immigrants with a deep understanding of the Middle East and uses that knowledge to help navigate missions in the region. And his debut comes as Bravo is adjusting to operating without one, Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot), who is not only recovering from losing a leg in a massive ambush but also willing to cooperate with the Blue Team, as he has done before. Plan to spend time with family.
“Unfortunately, he has to bear the brunt, even though he doesn’t really replace Clay, [as] the new member of the team,” showrunner Spencer Hudnut told TV Insider about Omar. “Obviously he has big shoes to fill, let alone Clay leaving the team has hurt people so much that – not that those people are holding it against Omar for being there – he’s very Much to prove with this tight-knit group. ”
He continued, “he has some of Clay’s qualities, but he’s his own man, his own person. There will be some growing pains as he integrates into the team, as you would expect. Hopefully he will be able to gain the trust of his Bravo teammates as the season progresses.
In “Growing Pains,” members of Bravo find unexpected allies when they are deployed to Northern Syria to track down those responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Crampton. Check out the photos below.
