‘SEAL Team’: Will Max Thieriot appear in the final season?

For star Max Thieriot, creator, executive producer and occasional director of Fire Country on CBS (currently airing its second season and renewed for a third), he’s been busy. But with SEAL Team, where he played Clay Spenser for six seasons until his character was shockingly killed off (due to scheduling conflicts with Fire Country), ending with the upcoming seventh and final season, we can’t help but wonder if we can see. Clay again, in some sort of flashback (or really, whatever the writers come up with).

“I really wanted to go and do it, but I think they were getting ready to film the rest of the season and I knew they were going to Colombia,” Thieriot told TV Insider. “So as far as I know, I don’t think there are any plans for that, unless they call me at the last minute.”

When we spoke to showrunner Spencer Hudnut after the Season 6 finale in November 2022, he wasn’t sure if it would be possible to bring Thieriot back for some kind of flashback.

“We have done things like this before. I just think part of this decision is that getting Max work done this season has been a struggle. The idea of ​​being able to plan ahead and figure that out seems daunting, but we would never say no to anything,” he explained at the time. “Clay’s legacy will live on in the program. And yeah, if there’s an opportunity that we can do something like that, I’ll be ready because he’s a big part of the show.
Clay’s journey in Thieriot’s last season on SEAL Team was a rocky one. First, the injury he sustained in the ambush at the end of season 5 left doctors with no other choice but to amputate his leg. Then, just as he finds new purpose, leaves the team, helps out at Ray’s (Neil Brown Jr.) veterinary center, and talks to a veterinarian about breaking into his recruitment center. Air Force, then took his own life, Clay was the one holding the gun when a security guard appeared – and as a result was shot in the chest and killed.
