Jensen Ackles’ Tracker Role Has All the Reasons to Be Much Bigger Than a Guest Star

Tracker lead Justin Hartley recently made it clear on his social media that his character’s brother will be making a big appearance in the penultimate episode of season 1 — and the role has been given to a very interesting guest star.

Supernatural star Jensen Ackles has been confirmed to be joining the show as Colter’s brother Russell, who has been seen in flashbacks in the past that could hint at some ongoing family drama.

So far, there’s not much to say about how big Jensen Ackles’ role as Russell Shaw will be.

Many are sure that the actor’s previous television credits could come in handy for his character’s future on the show.

CBS’ Tracker looks to be aiming to expand Colter Shaw’s inner-world drama with some interesting guest stars — and many fans are hoping to see more than just a one-episode family saga.

With the news recently revealed by Tracker star Justin Hartley himself, Jensen Ackles’ guest appearance in the penultimate episode of the show’s first season is getting a lot more hype than anything we’ll see in the finale.

Jensen Ackles was recently confirmed to be taking on the role of Russell Shaw, Colter’s estranged brother who had appeared in a few flashbacks before, but the role had already been cast by Mathew Nelson-Mahood at the time.

Up until Ackles’s entrance into the show, which will be marked by an episode called Off the Books and is set to release on May 12, Tracker has made it pretty clear that Colter’s personality turns out to be a lot more complex than he seems considering all the toughness in his behavior.

His troubled brother’s grand return could reveal more about their shared background that the show has kept under wraps so far.

Aside from potentially being the catalyst for the entire show to start picking up steam, Jensen Ackles is actually a perfect fit for the role he’s been cast in. As many fans of the mystery horror show Supernatural can attest, the actor has been pretty well prepared for his future on Tracker during his years playing the goofy and unhinged Dean Winchester, the polar opposite of his serious brother Sam, played by Jared Padalecki on the show.

So it’s clear that Ackles’ versatility as an actor and his ability to skillfully balance comedy and drama could have every chance of turning into something that could land him a more solid spot in upcoming episodes of Tracker and possibly even the next season.
