On Saturday, August 10, a day before the Chrisley Knows Best alum officially marked her 27th birthday, she enjoyed a dinner out
with loved ones, which she documented on her Instagram Stories. In a first post, Savannah could be seen spending time with her
niece Chloe, as a follow-up image showed the reality star posing with her younger brother Grayson. (Savannah became legal guardian
to both after their parents were sentenced to prison.)
Savannah’s birthday celebration come nearly two months after a judge granted her mother Julie Chrisley’s appeal and vacated her seven-year sentence in her tax evasion and fraud case due to insufficient evidence. She will be returning to the Atlanta courthouse on September 25 to receive a new sentence.
Julie and her husband Todd Chrisley — whose sentence has been upheld — were first indicted in 2019 along with their accountant for financial crimes. They were accused of lying to secure $30 million in bank loans and then filing for bankruptcy to avoid paying the money back.
The couple has maintained their innocence, but in 2022, they were found guilty on all 12 counts. The pair reported to prison in January 2023 to serve a combined 19-year sentence, though their sentences were reduced in September 2023.
Todd is set to be released in September 2032.
Julie Chrisley on the ‘Missed Days That I Can Never Get Back’ amid Prison: ‘Pray That I Don’t Miss Anymore’
During a July 2 episode of Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, the Special Forces alum opened up about a conversation she had with her mother following the appeal.
Acknowledging how Julie may experience “PTSD” and her return home was “not gonna be easy,” Savannah revealed that the two are anticipating her acclimation to be “really difficult” given the things she’s allegedly “witnessed” and the “abuse” she’s suffered.
“Anything I can do to help her get in the best space she could possibly ever be in, that’s what I’m gonna do,” she explained. “Because I can only imagine how she’s gonna feel coming home, and it’s gonna be overwhelming. And when I get the call that she can come home, I honestly don’t think I’m gonna tell anyone.”
