Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel’s (Raven Bowens) New Year’s Eve started so well. After an amorous time upstairs in their bedroom, they threw the party of the year at the DiMera mansion. Chanel didn’t think she had a care in the world and looked forward to a perfect 2025 with her husband. Too bad the universe had other plans for Johnny and Chanel. Johnny freaked out when he saw that Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) was there with Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and confronted her upstairs. He never expected Chanel to walk in and hear their conversation. On Thursday, Chanel asks Joy to leave the room so she can talk to Johnny.

She wants every detail of the night he spent with Chanel and demands that he start talking. Johnny explains that he truly thought Chanel was having an affair with Alex, so he got drunk and retaliated. It doesn’t matter to Chanel that Johnny insists he is sorry and that it was only one time. She is absolutely devastated and furious and lashes out at her husband — while slapping him straight across the face. Is it really over for Johnny and Chanel? For now, it certainly looks that way. It was only a few years ago when EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) and Belle (Martha Madison) fell into bed one night, only for Sami to find them in the afterglow. That put the kibosh on that affair pretty quickly, but are we headed toward another one?

EJ is fuming that he lost his job as Salem DA and was replaced by Belle, but Belle is enjoying watching EJ squirm. She is ready to go head-to-head with her former lover and former brother-in-law in court, but this time, they’ll be on different sides. At the New Year’s Eve bash, things start to heat up between Belle and EJ as they squabble some more and share some not-so-friendly banter. That can only lead to one thing. Where is Sami (Alison Sweney) when you need her? She is due back in Salem soon and won’t be happy about this at all.
