CORONATION Street fans have been left stunned after spotting a legendary character has already
appeared as a different character two decades ago.
The star – who is a firm favourite amongst viewers – is currently appearing on the cobbles right now.

She was introduced on screen in 2018 as the grandmother of Tyrone Dobbs and the mother of Cassie.
However, it’s not Maureen’s first stint in Coronation Street – having played a completely different character two decades ago.
Back in 2002 the 78-year-old played snooty Rovers Return landlady Lillian Spencer.
Lillian was only in just six episodes that year so even die-hard Corrie fans could be forgiven if they forgot about her appearance.
As footage of her in character behind the Rovers bar surfaced on social media, fans were left stunned.
One viewer said: “Omg it’s Evelyn.”
A second wrote: “Love her great actress never knew she was in it back then.”
“Wow I didn’t know Maureen had been in Corrie before,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Don’t remember Maureen in it before Evelyn.”
Meanwhile, last year Maureen revealed she was taking a break from Coronation Street after five years as Evelyn.
Viewers will watch as Evelyn becomes disillusioned with life on the cobbles, having complained her life lacks purpose.
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
