Emmerdale fans are buzzing with speculation that a former Dales favourite might return to blow the lid off Dawn Taylor’s affair.
Dawn, portrayed by Olivia Bromley, left viewers stunned earlier this year when she embarked on a fling with Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous. Her actions came as she was mourning her father Will (Dean Andrews), who passed away at Christmas.
Seeking solace, she betrayed her husband Billy (Jay Kontzle) with Joe – and what was meant to be a one-time indiscretion has turned into an ongoing secret romance. Joe’s step-grandmother, the formidable Kim Tate (Claire King), had her doubts about him. True to Tate form, she eventually uncovered the truth about Joe and Dawn’s liaison.
After confronting Joe with a stark warning to steer clear of Dawn or face her wrath, he seemed to heed the advice, later telling Dawn he’d be off to Dubai for a few weeks.

Yet, with Joe harbouring his own health issues, it’s uncertain if he’s actually jetted off to Dubai. What is evident, though, is that both Dawn and Joe have caught feelings for each other, despite initially seeking nothing serious, reports Leicestershire Live.
Amidst their scandalous affair, Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced that their secret will soon come crashing down, and they’re betting on a ‘returning’ Dales legend to spill the beans. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, a member expressed their disgust: “I’m sorry but Dawn makes me sick, the way she’s behaving is dreadful. Can someone just out her already.”
In the comments section, Emmerdale fans speculated that Debbie Dingle might return to the village for a dramatic showdown. One fan eagerly posted, “Debbie! We need her back.” Another chimed in with agreement: “Debbie and Joe have history so she could!” Soap icon Debbie Dingle, portrayed by Charley Webb, first graced our screens in 2002.
As Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) daughter, she’s been central to numerous major plots, from tumultuous romances to life-threatening situations. However, in 2021, Debbie bid farewell to the village and has been absent ever since.
Her romantic past includes a relationship with her stepbrother Joe, who pursued her while seeking revenge against her mother Charity (Emma Atkins), blaming her for his father Chris’ demise.
