Coronation Street fans have ‘worked out’ Todd Grimshaw’s new boyfriend Theo Silverton’s real identity.

Earlier this year, the soap announced the upcoming arrival of scaffolder Theo (James Cartwright) – who strikes up a romance with cobbles legend Todd (Gareth Pierce).

Describing his character as a “good guy,” actor James previously said Theo “comes in with the best of intentions.” However, James warned that he “may upset some people with his behaviour”.

During Tuesday’s episode (March 25), Theo made his debut and certainly made an impression on the cobbles residents. Amid Todd’s aunt Julie (Katy Cavanagh) cancer battle, he arranged a trip to a cocktail bar – but just as they headed to the tram, Julie experienced an intense pain.

She then leaned on a wall however, a piece of scaffolding fell, narrowly missing her. Moments later, Theo arrived and apologised – before claiming that Julie was faking her pain.

George (Tony Maudsley) then told him that she has cancer leaving Theo mortified. To try and make things up to her, a guilty Theo bought Julie some flowers – before heading for something to eat with Todd.

And while it was clear there were sparks between them as they got to know one another, when Todd mentioned meeting up again, Theo backtracked and quickly made an excuse to go – leaving Todd baffled.

Fans have ‘worked out’ his real identity

Now, viewers are certain they have ‘rumbled’ Theo’s true identity and that he could actually be Todd’s half-brother in what would be a game-changing twist.

Todd’s biological father is a man named Duncan and has never appeared on the soap. However, according to fans, Duncan could be Todd and Theo’s real father.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person penned: “Thoughts on Todd’s new fella?” Rushing to the comments section, a second viewer wrote: “Not sure if I trust him yet….”

A third chimed in and suggested a shock DNA twist: “Knowing the soap they’ll have him be Todd’s half-brother or something!”

Echoing their thoughts, someone else mused: “Tbh Todd’s dad, Duncan, has never been seen so he could easily have another family and son (Theo).” A fifth also said: “Oh no, poor Todd. That would be sick if they went down that storyline!”
