Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has weighed in on whether her character Daisy Midgeley and Bethany Platt could ever be friends.
The two women are currently in a love triangle with Daniel Osborne. Daniel is in a relationship with Bethany, with the two of them having just announced their engagement, though he kept his recent one-night stand with ex Daisy from his fiancée.
For Jordan, things have gone too far for Daisy and Bethany to ever become friends.
“There was a really nice friendship forming between Daisy and Bethany and I do think if they had met under different circumstances, different time and no bloody Daniel Osborne involved, then they would have been really good friends,” the soap star said.
“I think they’re both quite similar and it’s a shame that a stupid boy has gotten in the way of a lovely friendship! But I don’t think they could ever be friends, they’ll always be frenemies.”
Daisy is gutted to learn Daniel is engaged to Bethany and that the two plan on moving to London together.
When she learns she’s pregnant, Daisy hopes Daniel is the father, though she’s unsure whether the baby is actually his or Kit Green’s.
As their one-night stand is set to be exposed, Jordan confirmed Daisy is ready to do whatever it takes to get Daniel back.
“I think if Daniel doesn’t move away with Bethany then Daisy will definitely see that as another final opportunity,” she said.
“Daisy sees Bethany as her main obstacle really, so with her out of the picture she will think it’s only a matter of time before she can finally get what she wants, which of course is Daniel, and we all know that Daisy will do anything to get what she wants.”
