Emmerdale is currently making waves with the ongoing emotional storyline about Ruby, and everything that happened to her as a teenager. Fans were shocked by the revelation that she was sexually abused by her own father. However, it has been really heartwarming to watch how Chas has stood by her in support. Actress Beth Cordingle, who plays Ruby, is also in awe of the way Lucy Pargeter has portrayed the scenes.

“Adore this woman in real life because she is golden.” Beth Cordingly wrote on Instagram in praise of Lucy Pargeter’s portrayal of Chas Dingle. Beth also posted a still from the January 16, 2024, episode of Emmerdale. Furthermore, she stated that she was moved to tears for Ruby when Chas finally figured out the truth behind what must have happened to Ruby.

“Thirty years is a long time to hold that secret on your own,” Brth pointed. Thankfully, Ruby won’t have to handle it all alone anymore. The January 16, episode saw Chas figuring out that Anthony Fox assaulted Ruby and fathered Steph. In recent episodes, we saw that Caleb found the DNA reports in Ruby’s handbag and figured that he was not Steph’s father. He kicked Ruby out of the house, believing that she cheated on him.

However, that’s not true at all. And Chas told Caleb so.  She told him that Ruby was not seeing anyone else. “I think Anthony was abusing Ruby and I think he fathered Steph.” The spoilers suggest that Anthony Fox dies in the upcoming episodes.
