Emmerdale death storyline confirmed
emmerdale has announced that Nicholas Day is leaving the soap next week after a short stint in the role of villainous Anthony Fox.
With news of Anthony’s disturbing crimes now spreading around the village, someone takes the ultimate revenge as a gunshot is fired and his body is later found.
Ruby, Caleb, Cain, Chas, Aaron, Nicola and Laurel have been named as seven key suspects in the mystery and many of the cast involved have been sharing their characters’ motives. Who’ll pull the trigger?
Coronation Street stars Shelley King and Paddy Bever are both leaving the soap.
The actors have already finished filming in their respective roles as Yasmeen Metcalfe and Max Turner.
While several cast exits have been announced in quick succession recently, it’s thought that Shelley and Paddy both shared their intentions to leave some time ago.
The news was kept under wraps to avoid spoiling storylines, but ended up leaking out this week amid the current scrutiny surrounding cast contracts on the ITV soap.
Coronation Street return for Daisy’s exit storyline
Amy Robbins is returning to Coronation Street for another guest stint as Daisy Midgeley’s mother Christina Boyd.
Last seen in April 2024, Christina has a strained relationship with Daisy so there’s sure to be trouble as they come face-to-face again later this year.
EastEnders’ 40th anniversary documentary revealed
As first rumoured last year, EastEnders legend Ross Kemp is fronting a special documentary for the BBC soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
The hour-long show, titled EastEnders: 40 Years on the Square, will reminisce over memorable storylines from the past and the show’s rich history of tackling important issues.
As well as current cast, Anita Dobson (Angie Watts) and Pam St Clement (Pat Butcher) have been confirmed to take part in the programme.
The BBC is certainly keeping Ross busy at the moment, as he’s also reprising his role as Grant Mitchell as part of the show’s 40th anniversary.
Neighbours returns for Shane Ramsay and Roxy Willis
Neighbours is also celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, so it’s no surprise to see several familiar faces coming back.
The Aussie soap kicked off the year with the news that Tess Bell and Darcy Tyler would return, and the list has now been extended with the announcement of comebacks for Roxy Willis and Shane Ramsay.
Zima Anderson is reprising her role as Roxy for the first time since 2022, while Peter O’Brien has featured recently but his character Shane is now popping back to check on his son Max.

Home and Away announces two new characters
Two fresh faces will be joining Home and Away this year. Ryan Bown has been cast in the role of Remi Carter’s old friend Sonny, who’s billed as a charming, impulsive and fun-loving party boy.
Meanwhile, Sophea Pennington has landed the part of Lacey, a wild child who has links to the notorious River Boys gang.
UK fans will meet the newbies in the first quarter of 2025.

Hollyoaks star teases Dodger’s future
Hollyoaks star Danny Mac caught up with Digital Spy this week for an exclusive chat about his return to the role of Dodger Savage.
Dodger appeared for a handful of episodes this week, which revealed that he’s working undercover for the police and targeting Rex Gallagher.
The fan favourite left the village again shortly afterwards, but he’ll be back later in the year as this story develops further.
Danny told us: “I filmed a bit at the end of last year and I’ll be coming back in a few weeks.
“I do know that the foundations are there for this to be a huge, ongoing journey for all of those characters involved. I think we are just at the start of what is going to be something much, much bigger.
“How much Dodger already knows about the bigger journey, I’m not fully sure yet! I don’t know if he already knows how big the journey is going to be and he’s at stage one, or whether he thinks he’s at stage 10 but actually it’s going to 100. Either way, it’s going to be really exciting.”
