Ben Affleck once admitted that he was ‘disturbed’ by then-wife Jennifer Lopez’s admiration for Kevin Costner in a recently resurfaced interview.
Affleck made the comment during a March 2023 appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, which was recorded when the couple was still going strong.
The two split in August 2024, after Lopez filed for divorce.
Since their breakup, the Jenny From The Block hitmaker has been seen with filmmaker Costner, as they were spotted enjoying drinks at the bar together at the iconic western apparel store Kemo Sabe in Aspen this holiday season.
However, a source later claimed that the Yellowstone actor ‘is not seriously involved with anyone and not necessarily looking for anything more than that right now.’
But interestingly enough, it looks like ex-husband Affleck may have predicted their meetup, as he spilled on Lopez’s fascination with the TV show Yellowstone, which Costner stars in.
According to People, Affleck revealed that the Monster In Law star was ‘drawn to the romance between’ the two characters played by Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly on the show.
‘Jen showed me a clip off of Instagram of a monologue [Reilly] has in the car with the kid about the ways to become rich,’ Affleck shared at the time. ‘And then [Jen] was like, “I love the story of these two.”
‘I was like, “Wait a minute — with Cole Hauser? What do you love about it?”‘ Affleck added at the time.
‘I’m kind of disturbed by the fact that my wife really likes Yellowstone,’ he then joked.
Just over a year after Affleck made the podcast appearance, the couple went their separate ways.
In the court documents, she listed April 26, 2024 as their official date of separation and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
The pair were previously engaged in 2002 and reconciled later in 2021 after their respective splits.
Costner suffered his own heartbreak in recent years after his wife Christin Baumgartner filed for divorce in May of 2023.
Their tumultuous divorce, which saw them bickering over assets and a prenuptial agreement, was finalized in February of this year.
Lopez’s sighting with Costner comes after his Howard Stern interview last June, where he debunked a rumor that he was romantically involved with songstress Jewel.
He told the longtime radio host, ‘Jewel and I are friends. We’ve never gone out ever.’
‘She’s special, and I don’t want — I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have. She’s special to me. She’s beautiful enough to go out with,’ he added.
The award-winning Yellowstone star recalled that he joined Jewel, Emma Watson, as well as other guests for a charity event in the British Virgin Islands in November 2023.
‘She was somebody I just had some tremendous conversations with, and along with Emma,’ he shared, adding that he flew on a plane with the group to and from Branson’s Island.
