Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has shared her “iconic” idea for how to return to the ITV soap.
The actor and former I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant played Rosie Webster between 2000 and 2018. She’s not been back since, but she told The Mirror that not only is she keen to, she knows how she’d like to do it.
“I would love to go back to Coronation Street,” Flanagan said, adding: “I’m at home in Bolton which means I will be able to work around the kids.”

She also explained that she thinks motherhood should factor into Rosie’s return storyline, saying that she wants the character to be “a single mum with a real storyline, with two kids that she dumps with Sally to have her Rovers return play out an iconic barmaid role”.
Flanagan also named one of her favourite storylines from her time on the Cobbles, stating: “Rosie had such good storylines like the John Stape storyline about me being locked in an attic.”
When Rosie was last seen on Corrie, she was offered a job presenting a game show in Japan after appearing on This Morning, in a bit of ITV synergy. She packed her bags and that was it.

Last year, Flanagan said that she hasn’t been asked to return yet, but did tell on-screen mum and current cast member Sally Dynevor that she wants to come back.
