Coronation Street spoilers follow for next week’s episodes.
Coronation Street star Ben Price has explained Nick Tilsley’s big decision regarding Toyah Battersby, as well as his major confession.
In scenes airing this week, Nick will admit that he still has strong feelings for Toyah. At first she is hesitant, due to not wanting to upset Leanne, but they soon share a kiss.
“I think the way he sees it is that he’s got one chance,” Ben said of Nick’s confession. “He knows if he doesn’t say it now, then he’s always going to think ‘I wish I’d said it’.”

“Him and Leanne had a lot of times over the years when they were together, not together. So this time he just decides to go for it.
“[Toyah] doesn’t respond that well, she’s not sure. I think Nick knows that she still has feelings for him, but it’s certainly not her running straight back into his arms. This is an adult relationship, it’s not like they’re 18, there is a lot to work out, this is her sister and that’s also still in the mix.”
Making things even more complicated is Nick’s upcoming decision to make Toyah the Bistro manager, meaning she will be working with Leanne.
Speaking about that decision, Ben explained: “He doesn’t think Leanne will see it out, but this is business and for Nick there’s part of him that just thinks it will be good for business, she’s good at the job.

“Toyah points out how awkward it’s going to be but I don’t think Nick’s that great at that stuff… He’s good at compartmentalising his feelings…
“With this, I decided when I was playing it, no, he’s done. Leanne did things that couldn’t be taken back, she doesn’t hold back with Nick and now he’s decided, ‘I’m just going to say it how it is; I’m going to say how I really feel.'”
The actor added that he doesn’t know what the writers have in mind for Nick and Toyah, but he is finding the relationship “incredibly good fun to play”.
