Head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford gave DAYS fans a look at what to expect for the big anniversary and all the drama leading up to it.
Celebrating 60 years of DAYS
Speaking with TV Insider, the writers admitted they are pulling out all the stops for the anniversary. The special episode will focus on a gala that honors the legacy of Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey).
Many familiar faces will return for the big event, including Mike (Roark Critchlow), Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Jack (Matthew Ashford), Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), Sami (Alison Sweeney), Will (Chandler Massey), Marie (Maree Cheatham), Steve (Stephen Schnetzer), Eli (Lamon Archey), Lani (Sal Stowers), Eric (Greg Vaughan), Paul (Christopher Sean), and Andrew (Colton Little).
The writers wanted to honor the core families in Salem to celebrate the 60th anniversary and kick off the new seasons following the Peacock soap’s renewal.
DAYS’ anniversary won’t just be about the gala. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) uses his clout as the new hospital owner to conduct some mysterious experiments in his personal lab.
