1923 season 2 casts a new character that may play a role in Spencer finding his way home. It’s been confirmed that the Yellowstone prequel will return to Paramount+ on February 23, with Harrison Ford’s Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren’s Cara Dutton facing the possibility of losing their ranch. But they’re not the only ones staring down upheaval in 1923 season 2, as Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) has been separated from his love Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) after a tumultuous ship ride.
Variety confirms that Andy Dispensa is the latest actor to join 1923 in a recurring role. Dispensa, best known for playing Dion in the biblical drama The Chosen, has the role of Luca, who is described as a young man working in the engine room of a merchant ship. He joins the rest of the Yellowstone prequel, which also includes Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, and Timothy Dalton.

What 1923’s New Casting Could Mean For Spencer
Sklenar’s Character Is Eager To Be Back In Montana
Spencer’s journey is a key part of the prequel’s story. That journey hit a definite snag during the last episode of 1923 season 1, as Spencer is removed from a ship and separated from Alex after a duel with Alex’s former fiancé. The two lovers are trying to find their way back to one another. Still, as the teaser trailers for the new episodes have shown, Spencer is understandably eager to get home and potentially prepared to get violent.
