The Kerry Wyatt actress updated her social media as she shared her son’s first day at school
Emmerdale’s Laura Norton asked “how” as her eldest child, Jesse, started his first day at school.

Actress Laura Norton joined the ITV soap in 2012 and took on the role of Kerry Wyatt. Her character left the Dales in 2022 to work on a cruise ship after struggling to cope the death of her partner Al Chapman.

In real life, Laura took the 16-month absence for maternity leave. She joined the soap as the estranged mother of Amy Wyatt who was later adopted by by Val and Eric Pollard.

Kerry has had a tough year after Amy was one of the three deaths caused by the Valentine’s Day limo crash.
Amy was plunged into freezing cold water after the ice cracked beneath her feet, she later died in hospital from a cardiac arrest.
Outside of the Dales, Laura met her now fiancé Mark Jordon on the set of Emmerdale back in 2015, with the couple starting to date shortly after. Mark also starred on Emmerdale in the role of Daz Spencer before he left in 2019.
The couple share two children together, their son Jesse and daughter Ronnie.

Unfortunately, the pair have revealed that both of their children suffer from the same condition, Usher syndrome, which causes impairments to hearing and vision.
Laura and Mark have continuously expressed their dedication to finding a cure, and work closely with charity Cure Usher who was founded by Jo Milne.

The actress has previously shared: “In the beginning, it was about our babies. And then you meet other families going through the same thing and it becomes about everyone else.
“It’s such a rare condition and so many people have never heard of it and this community deserves to have people fighting for them and helping raise funds.”

Taking to her Instagram this week, Laura shared that it was her son’s first ever day at school. On her story she wrote: “HOW are you starting school tomorrow?”
As Mark held Jesse’s hand on the way into school, Laura posted the snap and penned: “And JUST. LIKE. THAT” followed by a broken heart emoji.
Emmerdale co-star Michelle Hardwick commented: “Have the best day gorgeous boy”, and Isabel Hodgins who announced her first pregnancy recently added: “Oh my goodness me”.
