Although the Yellowstone spinoff centered on Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler has yet to be confirmed, intel continues to trickle down about the series as if it has. The latest, per a report in industry newsletter Puck, is that the Taylor Sheridan drama is looking to cast a “Kevin Costner type.”

Here’s where you come in. Put on your thinking caps — or would that be your thinking Stetsons? — and hit the comments with the names of the actors that you feel would be best-suited to follow in Costner’s boot steps. Do you picture NCIS alum Mark Harmon riding tall in the saddle? John Malkovich making himself at home on the range? Or do you immediately see Sheridan-verse vet Dennis Quaid (Lawmen: Bass Reeves) locking horns with combustible marrieds Beth and Rip? Would Jon Bon Jovi be too young at just 63 years old to fit the bill?

Word that Yellowstone would be continuing in some form after its Season 5 finale first came down in December 2024, just ahead of the series’ swan song. Thus far, the only casting that has been mentioned has been Reilly and Hauser’s. Though Costner was inarguably Yellowstone’s lead when the show began, Reilly and Hauser soon made not only Beth and Rip but their pairing a hit with the audience. So the question to you is… who would you add to the spinoff to provide that big-daddy Costner vibe?
