Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ who is shot – and it’s not who you think

There is set to be drama on the cobbles next week as a major Coronation Street character is shot, and fans think they’ve worked out who is on the receiving end of the bullet.

Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) is currently camping out at No.1 while on the run from police, having broken out of hospital after donating a kidney to sister Carla Connor (Alison King).

Recent scenes have seen him attempt to convince former lover Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) to run away with him, before pulling the gun on her and demanding to see Carla.

Next week, Tracy follows Rob’s orders and summons Carla to the house, where she is horrified to see him clutching the gun and in so much pain

It doesn’t take long for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) to catch wind of the ongoing hostage situation, with a trailer for the episode revealing that she eventually ends up inside No.1 with Carla and Rob.

As the ordeal escalates, a gunshot rings out, leaving a major character in serious danger. But who?

With Rob clearly looking for revenge on Carla and Lisa, either of them could be set to take a bullet – though fans don’t think this will be the case.

Instead, they have taken to social media to share their theories that Tracy may actually be the one to end up getting shot.

‘It’s for sure Tracy getting shot btw. It makes sense story wise, it’ll make her and Ken grow closer again and build a bridge on everything that’s happened,’ Shannon theorised.

‘why do i feel like tracy is getting shot ??? i can’t get it out my head,’ Claudia added.

Emma had a fully developed theory, explaining: ‘My theory – Tracy gets shot, Carla tries to help her. Rob agrees to Tracy getting medical help but wants another hostage – Lisa steps in. The police shoot Rob, but he doesn’t die, he does back to prison. Carla visits him as she wants answers…..’

Jess agreed, writing: ‘Based on the most recent spoilers, I think that Tracy is getting shot (hence why she is there but not seemingly in the promo video, she’s on the floor shot) and then Rob is also getting shot. Tracy will survive, Rob will not.’

Will these fans be proved right, or will someone else end up hurt as Rob makes his final stand?
