Roxy Shahidi has revealed she would love to join Coronation Street, following her 17-year run as Leyla Harding on Emmerdale.
Born in Manchester, where Coronation Street is filmed, the 42-year-old actress feels it could be the perfect transition.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine about her future prospects, Roxy shared: “Maybe Coronation Street or maybe Waterloo Road as that’s a good drama and a bit different. Also, I’m from Manchester!”.
For now however, Roxy’s focus isn’t solely on acting as she opened up about her new business move.

She shared: “I’ve set up a yoga business, Yoga Rox, and I want to travel with that and teach.
“I just would like to do lots of different things now I can.”
Fans have frequently approached Roxy since her departure, expressing how much they miss her character.
Roxy reflected on these fan interactions, noting: “It’s bittersweet. On the one hand, you want to feel like the character you’ve played for so long is leaving that impact.
“But at the same time, it reminds you how sad you are to say goodbye.”
Leyla’s time on the soap came to a dramatic end last month in a limousine crash storyline, which saw the vehicle plunge into an icy lake.
She later died from severe blood loss after being impaled from the ice.
The actress went on to admit her astonishment regarding Leyla’s sudden and tragic exit, which sparked a whirlwind of emotions.
She further stated: “It is something that I’ve considered over the years. Getting the push was a mix of a sense of relief because you think, ‘Now I’ve got to get out there’.
“But, of course, it’s also sad because you love the character, the job, your friends. It’s both those things.”
