In the clips, Colson becomes their ‘Rovers Reporter’ and grills the Corrie residents about their holidays, and where they think their characters would like to go.

Among his interviewees are Claire Sweeney, who wants her character Cassie to head to Barbados for the new year.

Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd Grimshaw, reckons he would like a city break to Paris, while Tina O’Brien thinks Sarah Lou would enjoy a trip to Milan with daughter Bethany.

The new job is all in honour of a £5,000 getaway competition currently being run by Hays on their Instagram.

Colson confirmed that he would be leaving Coronation Street at the beginning this year, writing on Instagram: “Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker’s time on the Cobbles is to come to an end in 2025.

“I’ve LOVED every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the GREATEST street in the world.”

“I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street,” he continued.

“I’ve learnt pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home.

“I’m excited to play out the exit story for Our Craigy.”

“For Me, this is just the end of the beginning.” he teased. “I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me.”

He signed off: “LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!”

As well as being a favourite on Corrie, Colson appeared on the reboot of Celebrity Big Brother last year, making it to the finals.

He eventually placed third behind Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin, who came second, and winner David Potts.

Date of his exit from the show is yet to be confirmed, but he is one of a number of stars to have been given the boot this year, with co-stars Luca Toolan (Mason Radcliffe) and Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster) having also been written out by bosses.

Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) and Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley) also opted to quit the programme following the high-profile exit of Helen Worth as Gail Platt after 50 years.
