Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has shared a sweet message to co-star Luca Toolan following his exit from the soap.
The actor made his final appearance as Mason Radcliffe in Monday’s (January 6) episode, with the character tragically passing away after being stabbed following a fight with his brothers Matty and Logan.
Following the emotional scenes, Martin – who plays Mason’s love interest, Betsy Swain – took to Instagram to share a tribute to her former co-star and all the crew who were involved with the storyline.
“Devastated. Goodbye Mason Radcliffe💔” she wrote, with the post including a photo of her alongside Toolan and Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan Wilson. “What an incredible episode that I’m truly so proud to be a part of. If it saves even a single life, we’ve done our job.
“When it comes to the incredible team, I can’t shout loud enough how amazing everyone is, from crew to make up to costume, you truly are the best family, who put their all into everything everyday.
“Our director @directorjordan – oh what a privilege, you gave us the space to create something so special. You nurtured us and trusted us as we trusted you. Thank you personally for believing in me, you’ve created something so heartbreakingly beautiful. I’m truly so grateful to have worked with you.
