EastEnders fans reckon they’ve worked out an upcoming sexuality storyline after spotting chemistry between two characters.

Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) was taken aback by an unexpected arrival on the anniversary of ex-girlfriend Shireen’s disappearance.

Former best friend – and brother of Shireen – Asad (Aslan Amjad) turned up in Walford looking for answers over what happened to his sister.

It was the first time they’d seen each other in years and, despite their friendship ending badly, it didn’t take long for the animosity to settle, with the former pals reminiscing about happier times.

As discussion moved to Shireen, Asad confided in Harry that he ‘misses’ his sister, a sentiment which Harry very much echoed. Holding Asad’s gaze, Harry added that he’s missed him too.

As Asad handed him back a spanner he threw at the wall previously, the newcomer decided to take a look under the hood of the car his mate was working on, playfully offering him some advice.

But as he did, Harry simply gazed at his friend – with a look that fans reckon screams more than friendship.

‘I think we all know where this is leading…,’ wrote X formerly Twitter user Craig, opposite a screenshot of the look in question, with the scene receiving a lot of attention from viewers.

Fellow social media user Theo said: ‘Ok….. I can’t be the only one that saw that chemistry between Harry and Shireen’s brother right?’ while Alessia added: ‘that look harry gave asad?,’ accompanied by the ever subtextual eye emojis.

Mary echoed their stance, writing: ‘Am I seeing that there was something with Harry and Shireens’ brother’

EastEnders fan Melanie had similar thoughts, branding the look that Harry gave Asad ‘a bit lusty’.

Ryan speculated that the look is proof that a bisexuality storyline on the horizon for Harry.

Fellow social media user @betbinch agreed, writing: ”The hint dropping that Harry is bisexual… oh I’ve prayed for days like this.’

Could the fans be on to something? Is Harry secretly harbouring feelings for Asad? Or could something have transpired between the two in the past prior to Shireen’s disappearance?

Either way, romance would unlikely be on either of their radars if the truth about Shireen’s death comes out, with Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) confirming to an old associate of hers that she is the killer!
