The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, August 14, reveal that Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) enemy will be rising while Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) has a new job to do. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will also tackle a challenge, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.

For starters, Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will mull over his true feelings for Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and accept that their friendship may be morphing into something more – at least on his end.

Of course, Daniel won’t know where Tessa stands, especially since things are still so up in the air regarding her marriage.

However, Tessa is starting to think maybe her relationship with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is over, so Daniel may wonder if he still has a chance with her.

Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) will serve as Daniel’s confidant on Thursday’s Y&R episode, so he’ll presumably offer some advice.

Daniel may want to proceed with caution since there are a lot of delicate factors involved here, so Danny might offer a reminder about that.

On a happier note, Danny’s going to need a best man for his upcoming wedding, so Daniel may happily assure his father that he’s all in.

Likewise, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) is going to need someone to stand up for her, too.

Since Christine will have a significant request for Lauren on Thursday’s show, will she ask Lauren to be her matron of honor?

Since Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) is grieving Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and not in a very celebratory mood right now, Christine may hope Lauren will be willing to step up instead.

That could give Lauren a big job to do as she helps Christine nail down all the final wedding arrangements.

While Lauren accepts that challenge, Nick may do the same when faced with Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) pressure.

Victor will push for Nick’s help with Cane’s takedown and hope they can crush this threat like a bug!

Nick is pretty furious with Cane at this point, so Victor may not have to work too hard to win him over on this.

Victor and Nick may agree that they have to do whatever it takes to sink Cane – even if that means playing extra dirty.
