Fans of the hit Netflix series have been discussing what they believe is in store for the characters in the upcoming season
As Virgin River gears up for its highly anticipated seventh season, which is set to premiere on Netflix early next year, fans are already buzzing with theories about what lies ahead for the beloved small town drama.

The hit series follows nurse practitioner Mel Monroe ( Alexandra Breckenridge ) who moves to the quiet Northern California town of Virgin River after suffering a devastating personal loss. There, she falls in love unexpectedly with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), a former Marine and local bar owner.

Season six ended on a high note with Mel and Jack’s long-awaited wedding. While the finale celebrated the happy couple’s love and joy, it also left fans with several unanswered questions. Most notably with Charmaine, whose sudden disappearance left fans confused.

Now with production for season seven officially over, fans have taken to Reddit to share their predictions and frustrations for the upcoming season. One fan shared a detailed prompt about what could be in store.
They wrote: “Season 7 officially began filming March 12 and finished June 26. This season will be ten episodes. The powers want tighter storylines, with less filler scenes. It’s slated for an early 2026 debut. It’s set to begin two days (correction: two hours) after the end of season 6. A main focus will be Mel and Jack settling into married life, working on their new home and their quest for a family.”
Sharing their thoughts for season seven, they continued: “I’m predicting because Everett mentioned he made custom furniture while at lunch with Jack’s dad, he gifts the couple with either a cradle or rocking chair for their nursery. What would you like to see?”

Users were quick to respond with their own takes. Some fans of the show expressed hope that the latest season will take a different direction from the previous.

One user speculated about Brady’s future, and the money he had stolen last season, as they wrote: “I wanna know if Brady gets the money back that Lark stole! I really wanted them to work out…”
As another hoped for Jack and Mel to finally have a child, among other things, penning: “I’m hoping we get an adoption storyline for Jack and Mel. Lizzie will have a baby, so the genetic testing storyline is resolved. Fingers crossed that Brie makes a choice once and for all! Ideally, we get an early resolution of the Charmaine situation as well.”

While others weren’t so hopeful for the latest season. Most viewers complained about the timeline in which season seven will be starting, just two hours after season six ended, as the timeline seems to be a lot slower and more frustrating than other shows.
Additionally one user shared their frustration over Mel’s biological dad Everett’s character, commenting: “Hopefully we don’t have to endure another season of Everett, last season was bad enough.”
Season seven of Virgin River is rumoured to premiere on the streaming platform in January 2026.
