Who plays Full Metal on Seal team?
“SEAL Team” has made a notable transition from its original version, which first transitioned in 2017. Beginning its life on CBS, the show recently moved to Paramount+ for Season 5, will continue with its upcoming sixth season – not to mention the newly announced “SEAL Team” movie will also land on the streaming channel. Through it all, the show remained focused on the theme of brotherhood between soldiers, with the core dynamic revolving around Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) and his team of operators.
However, as “SEAL Team” frequently presents in its storylines, the life of a U.S. Special Forces soldier can be fraught with danger. As a result, the show has seen numerous cast members come and go as characters meet their untimely ends on the battlefield, including during the events of Season 4. One such character is Scott Carter, aka Full Metal.
Of course, behind the scenes is a fascinating backstory of the actor playing Full Metal. Let’s take a closer look at the performer who brought this soldier to life.
Full Metal is played by real-life SEAL Scott Foxx
If Full Metal’s skills as a soldier seem authentic during his time on “SEAL Team,” it’s because they were earned on a real-life battlefield. The character Scott “Full Metal” Carter is actually portrayed by Scott Foxx, a former Navy SEAL (according to TVLine). Foxx served two tours of duty in Iraq, the first occurring in 2005 and the second occurring in 2007 (as can be seen through photos on his personal Instagram). From there, he went on to serve as a technical consultant for Hollywood films about Special Forces units, which is how he found himself in the cast of “SEAL Team.”
Because Foxx’s background is somewhat atypical compared to other actors who have played Navy SEALs in Hollywood, his IMDb listing on screen is relatively limited. Aside from his work on “SEAL Team,” the only other screen work he has done is as Travis Carter alongside Josh Brolin and Miles Teller in Joseph Kosinski’s “Only the Brave.” The 2017 film chronicles the lives and untimely deaths of several real-life firefighters who perished in the 2013 wildfires. Additionally, although Foxx will no longer appear on camera as Full Metal series, he will still retain his role as advisor.
He may no longer be in front of the cameras, but hopefully his presence behind the scenes will help “SEAL Team” continue its signature military authenticity.
